Our trainers Khalid AlQoud and Eddy Azzam held a workshop in leadership and negotiation for ICCROM-ATHAR which is a regional field office of ICCROM (International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property, Rome, Italy), an intergovernmental organisation founded by UNESCO in 1956 with headquarters in Rome, Italy. In response to political upheavals and the subsequent need for emergency preparedness in the Arab region, ICCROM-ATHAR Regional Conservation Centre has devised a course on “Building National Capacities in First Aid and Risk Management for Cultural Heritage in Times of Conflict”, which will be held from 4 to 31 October 2016 in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
This course was designed in order to help participants improve their skills and knowledge which will provide support for risk management before, during, and after a conflict. The course will help them understand, evaluate, prioritise, and communicate risks prior to implementing actions, so as to minimize heritage loss, despite limited resources.

The workshops were conducted in Arabic.
