Biography
Shaikha Al Shaiba is a renowned para-athlete residing in Bahrain who started her training journey in 2016. She completed the three Spartan obstacle races which led to her becoming a Spartan X Ambassador. Shaikha then went on to complete the Half Ironman Race in Bahrain in 2017 as an individual (1.9km swim, 90km bike and 21km run) as well as the full marathon in Paris covering the full distance of 42.195km in April, 2019. She has also participated in other races such as hiking in Oman and a Abu Dhabi Triathlon. She recently started training in CrossFit and looks forward to advancing in her journey.
Shaikha is not only an athlete and a sports love but she also holds a Bachelors degree in Business Informatics from AMA International University, Bahrain. She has over 15 years experience in the banking and Investment field at leading institutions in the region and worked as Head of HR Transformation at a renowned petroleum company.
Born in 1983, Shaikha lost her arm to cancer when she has 18 months old, this has been her driving force and motivation for her achievements to date and strives to inspire by example in all her endeavors.
